It is best to makes sure that your pet is well-adjusted to their home environment before beginning fence training, and we recommend that your pet be at least 8 weeks of age before being trained to the fence. There are no minimum/maximum size limits – we train dogs of all shapes and sizes.
Does the correction hurt my pet?
The correction used is safe and humane, just enough to startle your pet but not actually inflict pain – there is less energy produced in a correction than there is from a carpet’s static shock.

Since all pets are unique the time to train may vary, but on average most dogs are trained to the fence in about six days. Our gentle, humane training technique drastically reduces the amount of time normally spent introducing your dog to its new fence.
How often will I have to replace batteries?
Battery life depends on how often your dog tests the boundary – in most cases, typical battery life lasts from 5 to 8 months. When the battery is low, the low power indicator on your pet’s receiver will flash, allowing you to change the batteries before they expire.
